Frank Coffin Bar Buldang was designed as a space that introduces a sense of atmosphere rarely found in cafés in Korea. Rather than following familiar café formulas, the interior focuses on creating a distinctive mood through architectural composition and material detail.

프랭크커핀바 불당점은 한국의 일반적인 카페에서 쉽게 볼 수 없는 분위기를 구현하는 데에 초점을 맞춘 공간입니다. 익숙한 카페 공식에서 벗어나, 공간의 구조와 재료 디테일을 통해 독자적인 무드를 만들어내고자 했습니다.

클래식한 유럽 카페의 인상을 현대적으로 해석하여, 과하지 않은 방식으로 공간에 녹여냈습니다. 맞춤 제작된 목공 디테일과 몰딩, 비례감 있게 구성된 선반과 바 구조는 공간의 중심을 이루며, 어두운 톤의 우드 마감과 절제된 조명이 어우러져 깊이 있는 분위기를 형성합니다.

기둥과 빌트인 가구 요소들은 단순한 장식이 아닌 공간 구조의 일부로 설계되었으며, 정교한 목공 시공과 소재의 균형을 통해 전통적인 인상과 현대적인 감각이 공존하는 카페 공간을 완성했습니다. 낯설지만 자연스럽게 머물고 싶어지는 경험을 제공하는 인테리어를 지향했습니다.

The space draws inspiration from classic European cafés, interpreted in a restrained and contemporary way. Custom woodwork, layered moldings, and carefully proportioned shelving define the bar area, while the use of dark-toned wood and subtle lighting adds depth and character to the interior.

Ornamental columns and built-in furniture were crafted as integral architectural elements rather than decorative features, allowing the space to feel cohesive and intentional. Through precise carpentry and material control, the interior balances a sense of tradition with a refined, modern sensibility — creating an immersive café experience that feels both unfamiliar and inviting.
