SPACE DESIGN
GOYU is a beauty select shop that introduces a range of K-beauty brands within a single space. The spatial design draws inspiration from traditional Korean structures and everyday objects, reinterpreting them through a contemporary design language.
Behind the counter, a folding screen–inspired partition creates a gentle boundary while naturally dividing the flow of the space. The metal shelving along the walls takes cues from the lattice structure of traditional Korean windows, forming a light and rhythmic visual pattern, while the metal drawer units below are inspired by the compartmentalized medicine cabinets found in traditional herbal pharmacies.
Fabric details reference jogakbo patchwork, combining with wooden frames to reinterpret Korean structural aesthetics in a modern way. Metal, wood, glass, and fabric create a calm contrast of materials, completing the atmosphere of the space.
GOYU는 다양한 K-뷰티 브랜드를 한 공간에서 소개하는 밀라노 기반 뷰티 셀렉트숍입니다. GOYU의 공간은 한국적인 구조와 생활 오브제에서 모티프를 가져와 현대적인 공간 언어로 풀어내는 방향으로 진행되었습니다.
카운터 뒤편에는 병풍 형태의 파티션을 배치해 공간의 흐름을 나누며 완만한 경계를 만듭니다. 벽면의 금속 선반은 전통 창호의 격자 구조에서 모티프를 가져와 가벼운 리듬을 형성하고, 하부의 금속 서랍장은 한약방의 약재함 구조에서 착안해 제작되었습니다.
패브릭에는 조각보에서 영감을 받은 디테일을 적용해 목재 프레임과 함께 한국적인 구조미를 현대적으로 표현했습니다. 금속, 목재, 유리, 패브릭 등 서로 다른 물성이 차분한 대비를 이루며 공간의 분위기를 완성합니다.
