STAY TEOUL naturally integrates traditional Korean architectural elements into a contemporary space. A transitional zone between the living area and bathtub creates a subtle shift in atmosphere, while stone flooring and materials inspired by Hanji paper add warmth and texture throughout the interior. Motifs based on traditional rafters and wooden slats were applied across the space to create visual continuity and a calm, cohesive atmosphere. Rather than using Korean elements decoratively, the project focuses on embedding them naturally into the overall spatial flow and stay experience.
STAY TEOUL은 한국적인 조형 요소와 재료의 감각을 현대적인 공간 안에 자연스럽게 풀어내는 데 집중했습니다. 공간 중심에는 욕조를 배치하고, 거실과 욕조 사이에는 전이 공간을 두어 분위기가 자연스럽게 전환되도록 계획했습니다. 바닥의 돌 소재를 통해 이동 과정 안에서 질감과 물성의 변화가 이어지도록 구성했습니다.
전체 공간에는 서까래와 간살 구조를 주요 모티프로 활용했으며, 천장과 슬라이딩 도어, 헤드월 등에 반복 적용해 공간 전반의 통일감을 만들었습니다. 조명은 한지의 질감을 연상시키는 소재를 사용해 부드럽고 은은한 분위기를 더했습니다.
이 프로젝트는 한국적인 요소를 단순히 차용하기보다, 공간의 흐름과 체류 경험 안에 자연스럽게 스며들도록 풀어낸 공간입니다.
